  • Orkney Stroke Managed Clinical Network is committed to improving services in the following areas;

  • Communication between the public and service providers – clear and open dissemination of information, access to decision-making groups.

  • Information sharing – distribution via newsletters, talks, activities and the web.

  • Links between network members – developing special interest groups and encouraging shared resources.

  • Education and professional development – providing access to courses and study sessions, links to academic organisations.

  • Equal access and empowerment – standardised services wherever people live and whatever their circum stances. Giving people choices.

  • Supporting locally appropriate services – supporting innovation in primary care services, reducing the reliance on out-of-area care provision.
